Camp Speers 75th Anniversary!
For 75 years, Camp Speers YMCA has been a place where kids can unplug and connect to nature, fun, and new friendships. It’s a place where the Y values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility are woven into everything we do. We proudly opened in 1948 as the first ever racially integrated American YMCA summer camp, and we stand true to those roots today by offering amazing camping programs to children and families of all backgrounds, religions, and economic standing.
We hope you’ll join us in honoring the past, celebrating the present, and looking toward the future by supporting our endeavor to raise $75,000 for our 75th Anniversary. This fundraising campaign will allow us to continue making a lasting impact on children’s lives for another 75 years and beyond. Donations can be made when you register for the 75th Anniversary Reunion Weekend, or you can click the button on the right.
We would not be able to plan such a meaningful milestone event without our planning committee! This dedicated group of volunteers has been working hard and graciously giving their time to plan an awesome event, and we cannot thank them enough.
This page will be updated regularly as plans are solidified – so stay tuned!

75th Anniversary Reunion Weekend
October 6-9, 2023
This fall, we are gathering to celebrate the legacy and impact of Camp Speers YMCA. We’ll learn about and celebrate its history; reunite with fellow campers, staff, and friends; connect with the nature that has never stopped changing, yet remains the same; and enjoy our camp community with good food, camp activities, music, a classic Speers auction, and more! We hope you’ll join us!
Pricing, accommodation information, and FAQs are all available on this webpage. Children under 5 are FREE for this event.

Your registration includes all meals and activities provided by camp during that time. We’ll be running classic camp activities like archery, rock climbing, arts & crafts, farm visits, and boating. A Kid’s Zone for our littlest guests will be available at times, as well.
Friday to Monday/Sunday registrations include shared cabin accommodations in either Speers or Eljabar Village. One Village may be better suited to your and your family over the other – please see the grid below to check out the cabin accommodations. Most of the weekend’s activities will take place in the Speers Village and parking will be available close to Speers for families staying in Eljabar.
If you would like to request to bunk with another family, please indicate that during registration. Otherwise, we will fill and assign cabins based on similar family makeup. Cabin assignments will be distributed at check-in. We cannot confirm cabins until you check-in physically at camp.

Frequently Asked Questions
I have little ones, what should I consider?
We will do our best to make camp as accommodating as possible for young children and babies – all are welcome at camp! Some living spaces are more suitable for young children than others – be sure to note the different types of cabin accommodations available. Camp does not have high chairs on site and the bathrooms/bathhouses do not have changing tables. All children under the age of 13 must be supervised by an adult at all times during the reunion weekend.
What do I need to bring?
Please be sure to check the weather for Dingmans Ferry and pack accordingly! Bedding and towels are not provided. If you are traveling via plane and cannot bring your own bedding, please contact camp directly and ask about our rental program. Activities will be provided throughout the weekend, but feel free to bring your own sports equipment, bikes, and games.
Is food provided? What if I have food allergies or dietary restrictions?
Yes! Meals are provided and our food service company can accommodate dietary needs and restrictions. All dietary needs must be communicated at the time of registration. We will not be able to make accommodations that are not communicated prior to the event.
Can I bring my dog?
Dogs and other pets are not permitted on-site here at camp for any community or retreat events, including the 75th Anniversary.
Will the camp store be open? What’s for sale? Do I need to have cash?
Yes! A variety of camp-branded apparel, gifts, drinkware, and more will be available for purchase throughout the weekend. Cash, cards, and checks are acceptable methods of payment.
