Summer is a magical time for children, and nowhere is the magic more obvious than at Camp Speers-Eljabar YMCA. We are actually two camps co-located on 1,100 forested acres surrounding our private 42-acre Lake Nichecronk.
This setting provides an unspoiled natural environment to explore and enjoy.
Since our establishment in 1948 as the first YMCA camp to accept children of all ethnic groups, races, economic backgrounds, religions and nationalities, Camp Speers-Eljabar YMCA has provided magical summer camp experiences for thousands of children from the US and beyond.
Each camp features its own modern dining hall where meals are times of fun-filled community building complimented by well balanced, hearty and delicious foods. All cabin groups are 8-12 campers with 2 – 3 cabin counselors. A variety of recreation facilities surround the cabin areas. Miles of trails link sports fields, the ranch, climbing towers, confidence courses, target sports ranges, and more.
