This past weekend, the Mountain Monarchs came to Camp Speers - Eljabar YMCA from the Somerset Hills YMCA in Basking Ridge, NJ. As they drove up through the light traffic to Dingmans Ferry, PA, the night was clear and crisp, and in the morning they awoke to find over 4 inches of snow on the ground!
This group of Dads & Daughters filled their weekend with activities including Arts & Crafts, Archery, Riflery, Outdoor Cooking, Sledding, Cross-Country Skiing, Ice Skating, and Snow Tubing. On Saturday night, the girls performed an original skit at the campfire and indulged in some delectable indoor s’mores.
One dad reported back to Somerset Hills YMCA that the “weekend was fantastic. Probably the best campout that I've been on in the 8 years of being in AG” (Adventure Guides). An evaluation from the weekend revealed that the best part of their stay was “the great family atmosphere”.
