Camp Speers-Eljabar

Our Family Camps offer you, your family & friends an array of recreational activities to enjoy and almost limitless opportunities to share the “magic” of a Camp Speers-Eljabar YMCA experience.  By the end, we’ll have you saying, “We had so much fun! We can’t wait to go back!”

FUN-FILLED DAYS & NIGHTS!
Spend your days enjoying Canoeing, Boating, Horseback Riding*, Ropes Course Challenges, Nature Walks, Games & Sports, Climbing Tower, Fishing, Cowboy Breakfast Ride*, Target Sports, Arts & Crafts, and more or find a shady spot to enjoy a nap or good book.  During the evenings, we really entertain!  Join our staff in singing songs around the campfire, laugh at their skits, and share your own talents!  Exciting features include: The Traveling Story Teller, Kid Zone Activities, Lake Swimming, Fishing Derby and more!  Our food service staff keeps you well fueled and coming back for seconds!  A special highlight is our salad bar with a variety of salads, condiments, fruits & vegetables provided every lunch and dinner.  A fruit and cereal bar complements our hot breakfasts.* = Additional charges apply. 

A MAGICAL PLACE!
Our facilities are “second to none” featuring beautiful, spacious log cabins that accommodate up to 14 people in bunk style beds. (Please bring your own bedding and towels)  Cabins in Camp Eljabar feature in-cabin bathrooms and showers.  Cabins in Camp Speers are located conveniently near well-appointed bathhouses.  Our 1,100 wooded acres in the beautiful Pocono Mountains surround our private lake, home to boating and swimming.  Our woodlands are criss-crossed with trails for hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding.

REGISTRATION NOTES

Refunds:
Registration Deposit of $100 is non-refundable.
If written notice of cancellation is received 30 days prior to the start of Family Camp, fees, less the $100 deposit, will be refunded.
In the event of an illness or injury that prevents participation, fees less the deposit will be refunded upon receipt of a physician’s statement that the camper was unable to participate.

Cabin Assignments:
Cabins are assigned in the order in which the registration is received with families from the preceding year having a time- limited opportunity to request the cabin that they were assigned in the past.
The larger cabins (capacity 14 people) in Camp Eljabar are assigned to families who have volunteered to share with another family(ies). Families not wishing to share a cabin will be assigned to smaller cabins (capacity 10 – 12 ppl) 
Families are assigned to cabins in Camp Eljabar first.  Once Camp Eljabar is filled, families will be assigned to cabins in Camp Speers.  Families may also request to be assigned to cabins in Camp Speers whether or not Camp Eljabar is filled.  

Camperships:
We are committed to serving all who wish to participate in our programs.  We are pleased to offer financial assistance to those who qualify through our Campership Program.  Camperships are awarded based on financial need.
