Sleepaway Camp

Summer is a magical time for children, and nowhere is the magic more obvious than at Camp Speers-Eljabar YMCA. 

 High in the Pocono Mountains, our 1,100 acre facility is home to miles of trails for hiking, biking and horseback riding; fields for sports & games; target sport ranges; climbing towers; ropes courses; arts & crafts studios; equestrian center with barn & riding arenas and more. 

Central to our camp is our 42 acre lake, the mecca for sailing, swimming, fishing, rowing, canoeing, kayaking, and water play of all kinds.  Modern log buildings provide comfortable sleeping, eating and indoor play space. While our facilities are extraordinary - it's our staff that keep campers engaged and coming back year after year!  

 The staff, a.k.a. The Fun-gineers  are outgoing, creative, positive role models who ensure that every camper makes friends, masters new skills, gains independence, is safe and has FUN!

Since our establishment in 1948 as the first YMCA camp to accept children of all ethnic groups, races, economic backgrounds, religions and nationalities, Camp Speers-Eljabar YMCA has provided magical summer camp experiences for thousands of children from the US and beyond.
