Summer is a magical time for children, and nowhere is the magic more enchanting than on Lake Nichecronk! Our two sites -- Camp Speers and Camp Eljabar -- create one lasting impression. Our 1100-acre forest provides a charming setting for age-appropriate, action-packed activities and social interactions designed to meet the precise needs of each stage of a child’s development -- allowing them to excel in traditional resident camp and day camp programs.

Our summer day camp program provides almost limitless opportunities for FUN in a safe and nurturing environment.

Leadership Development

The LIT program is designed to present campers between 9th and 10th grade with leadership skills transferable to their everyday lives. Our Counselor In Training program is designed to prepare campers for leadership roles within camp.

Summer Camps - Horseback Riding

We have horseback riding options for every rider - beginner to advanced as well as English and Western. Sleep Away and Day Campers choose their option: Smiles & Saddles, Riders Roundup or Horse Lovers Camp.

Campers with Special Needs

ACCES (All Children Can Experience Speers-Eljabar) is an inclusion program that enables campers with mild to moderate developmental disabilities to participate in traditional residential camping activities.

Open Water Swim Camp

Somerset Hills YMCA and Camp Speers-Eljabar YMCA are offering the best of Competitive Swim Training and Summer Sleep Away Camping with the 2011 Open Water Swim Camp Aug 21 - 27 for YMCA League swimmers ages 11 - 14 (Silver Level and above).
