Summer Programs

Summer is a magical time for children, and nowhere is the magic more enchanting than on Lake Nichecronk! Our two sites -- Camp Speers and Camp Eljabar -- create one lasting impression. Our 1100-acre forest provides a charming setting for age-appropriate, action-packed activities and social interactions designed to meet the precise needs of each stage of a child’s development -- allowing them to excel in traditional resident camp and day camp programs.

Sleepaway Camp

Summer is a magical time for children, and nowhere is the magic more obvious than at Camp Speers-Eljabar YMCA. We are actually two camps co-located on 1,100 forested acres surrounding our private 42-acre Lake Nichecronk.

Day Camp

Our summer day camp program provides almost limitless opportunities for FUN in a safe and nurturing environment.

Horseback Riding

We offer a variety of horseback riding options during the months of April – October.

Leadership Development

The LIT program is designed to present campers between 9th and 10th grade with leadership skills transferable to their everyday lives. Our Counselor In Training program is designed to prepare campers for leadership roles within camp.

Campers with Special Needs

ACCES (All Children Can Experience Speers-Eljabar) is a mainstreaming program that enables campers with mild to moderate developmental disabilities to participate in traditional residential camping activities.

Open Water Swim Camp

Somerset Hills YMCA and Camp Speers-Eljabar YMCA are offering the best of Competitive Swim Training and Summer Sleep Away Camping with the 2010 Open Water Swim Camp Aug 22 - 28 for YMCA League swimmers ages 11 - 14 (Silver Level and above).
